On my way back to DJ's preschool this afternoon (he was already there, playing happily with his classmates), to help with their halloween party, someone decided to run a very red light and smash into my car. I'm fine. Very sore, but otherwise a-ok. I am so grateful that DJ was not with me. They hit his side of the car and while the car didn't sustain a lot of damage on the side (the underside is another story, I landed up on a raised median), he would have been traumatized.
I called the preschool and they called Todd (my soon-to-be-ex-husband) and Todd rushed out of work and drove over to pick DJ up and then they came to pick me up at the hospital. I was taken with all precautions (backboard, etc), because of my previous back injuries and the fact that I was having some pain at the scene. Everything checked out fine and I was released.
I will be sore for a few days and I don't have a car and will have to figure that situation out in more detail in the coming days, but for now, I am so grateful that it wasn't worse and DJ was happy and content at school.

I'm so thankful that you are okay and that DJ wasn't in the car. I'll be praying that the soreness goes away soon and that's all that it is.
